When Billy told me we were going to the The Ravenous Pig for dinner, my immediate response was…
“OMG! They named a restaurant after me”.
But for reals… this restaurant will turn anyone into a ravenous pig. I was blown away by every taste — from the crafted cocktails to their homemade gruyere biscuits and tapas board to the pork porterhouse and the “pig tails” for dessert.
Located in Winter Park (FL), this lively gastropub prides itself on using as many local ingredients from surrounding farms and artisanal purveyors as possible. You can taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients. The Ravenous Pig also gave me my first encounter with sous-vide cooking. Sous-vide is a method of cooking when meat is vacuum sealed in plastic, either with or without marinated, and then boiled. Google will inform you much better than I can since last night was my first time even hearing of it, but I am very intrigued since the pork was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection.
For dessert we ordered their famous “pig tails”, which are churros shaped like curly pig tails with chocolate dipping sauce! Sinfully delicious.
Shoutout to my godfather Billy for showing me another amazing restaurant!
If @theravenouspig wasn’t already taken, I would switch @canttalk_eating’s username!

TL;DR : American Gastropub with great atmosphere. Must orders: Old Fashion cocktail + Pork Porterhouse + Pig Tails.
