YOU CALL IT LAST SEASON’S, I CALL IT VINTAGE
I have Racked NY to thank for this.
I first learned about this sample sale while at my internship on Tuesday. As I arrived at 6:20PM, there were two roped-off lines of eager shoppers outside the front door. Once inside, you had to check your belongings and then the shopping (or should I say fighting for sizes) commenced.
For any of you that don’t know — I have a serious shopping problem. Shopping + styling outfits makes me insanely happy. Therefore, when I came across these items and saw potential outfits, I had to have them. So much so that I went back the next day to buy the items I left behind.
Not that I expected it to be casual comb over the racks of generously discounted clothes but going right after everyone gets out of work wasn’t the best choice on my part (I went at 11AM the second day it was much calmer). Along with being squeezed between racks of clothing like sardines, when you wanted to try on your clothes the “dressing room” was just that, one room. Or should I say dressing area — a curtain surrounding lines of clothing racks — which is communal… So make sure you’re not sans bra that day unless you’re comfortable freeing your nips to strangers.
Make sure to check back soon to see how I style each Maje piece!
XO,
L
TL;DR: Racked NY is my new shopping guide. Try and shop the sample sales in the AM. Sample sales are worth it + will be the reason I am dressed insanely nice but also the reason my bank account will hate me.
The Maje sample sale will continue through Sunday!
