Are Snapchat Spectacles worth it or a waste?!

I know that these are not a new new piece of tech, but since I snap so often + am infatuated with capturing moments, I had to try these out.
Sold for $129.99 (138.93) after tax — these plastic sunnies are comparable to the price of Ray Bans. While what you are paying for craftsmanship-wise may differ, you’re paying for the tech aspect. However, the spectacles do not lack style with their Warby Parker-esque shape.
As far as functionality… I love the Snap Specs for what they offer. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I want to capture a moment for the vlog and cant get my Canon on + hit record quick enough. So the immediacy of tapping the button on the Snap Spectacles and having it capture the moment instantly is priceless to me. While the quality may not be on-par with my camera (even when you download the HD version) — when you view the snap on Snapchat you can rotate your phone to reveal a larger view of the snap. When you snap via the spectacles, is exported in a circle view finder (see video below). Another wonderful feature is that even if you do not have your phone with you while you are using the spectacles, once you reconnect via bluetooth the snaps will upload to your Snapchat app.
Overall, I’m really happy with these. I love the organic view you get from the spectacles since for the entirety of the snap it comes straight from your eye’s POV. It’s reminiscent of footage from a GoPro strapped to your forehead — yet, less embarrassing to walk around with.
