I swear, some gown designers make the ugliest dresses on purpose just to make people look bad… I spent a good two months searching for a gown and had no luck. Then I found this one a couple days before the event.
Elizabeth and James is a great brand to find simple and sophisticated (and insanely comfortable) pieces. I wore a set of theirs on my last birthday! Their fabric is substantial, high quality, and just the right bit of elasticity. The stretchy fabric makes it perfect for any event where you’ll be dancing. This dress comes in black and light pink (but black over everything). And I was finally normal height after slipping on my 6-inch platform heels.
I wore a David Yurman choker, ring + earrings (borrowed from the lovely Kathy Fable, THANK YOU!) and carried a black BCBG clutch. I found a similar one for you guys here, since I don’t believe they make the “ANGEL” clutch anymore. The wings remind me of Aerosmith’s logo so I love it that much more!
I went to Drybar to get an Uptini (updo in Drybar terms). From walking and being served a glass of champagne to being done in 1 hour, Drybar exceeded my expectations. I know I’m a little late to the game on this one since Drybar has been open since 2010 — but I definitely recommend going if you haven’t yet!
I decided to do a teased, textured ponytail. The two main ingredients : Drybar’s Triple Sec Texture Spray + The 3-Day Bender Curling Iron. I use their curling iron when I do my hair myself. It is amazing because the barrel rotates making curling your hair much easier!
At select Sephora’s, you can get a 1 hour 30 min consultation and skin care/makeup lesson with a specialist when you spend $125. I took advantage of this the day of the ball. Some of the products I fell in love with : Kat Von D’s Tattoo Eyeliner (Only black eyeliner I use), Kat Von D’s Lock-It Foundation, Tarte’s Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil.
