Yet another US city has a piece of my heart.
My short but sweet stay in Chicago began with an incredible dining experience at the Fulton Market Kitchen (post to come). Stayed at The Gray Hotel on W Monroe Street which had an elegant boutique hotel vibe.
In between meetings I made sure to be a tourist and see the famous Chicago Bean, also known as Cloud Gate, + Skydeck/The Ledge at the top on the Willis Tower. And although this Thursday was particularly foggy — the views were still stunning. In fact, the fog added to the surrealistic landscape + experience. Also, it allowed for some solo shots by the bean! ?
Not sure which was more trippy — walking underneath the bean or staring at the top of skyscrapers/on the plexiglass balcony.
For all of the pictures I have seen of people standing in front of Chicago’s bean — I am amazed that I have not seen more underneath. I was enthralled with the distorted images of the reality and the viewers as we walked underneath.
Continuing the surrealism, The Ledge offered ariel views that only my drone could’ve caught. Although I saw groups of people step onto the plexiglass floor before me, when I went to step onto it, every part of me told me not to. There was something about seeing the tops of buildings + cars driving on the streets below that made my stomach drop.
All of the food I ate was superb and you all know that each restaurant will have their own SHORT & SWEET post soon! Including the deep dish pizza I brought on the flight home for the fam bam!
