I had the hardest time finding the perfect dress for this occasion — I don’t know if it’s because I had something so particular in mind or that when I did find a dress I liked, the price tag was upwards of $700… But, I found this gorgeous Karen Millen dress @ Bloomingdales. This is the first piece of her’s I’ve worn and I have to say, everything about it was incredible. What you can’t see in these photos is how meticulous the stiching is, which adds just the right about of detail to this solid red dress. The asymmetrical one-shoulder + hemline also attributes to it’s standout, yet highly sophisticated look. There is a centre-slit in the back makes dancing effortless in this figure-fitting dress.
While black will always be my favorite color, red is most definitely the runner up. There is something electrifying about wearing a bright, fire engine red.
First, I fell in love with these Stuart Weitzman Nudist heels. I have them in both nude and back and found them to be insanely uncomfortable… BUT the newer Nudist generation is made with a subtle platform that makes all the difference. The pearl details are currently on trend, but they are refined enough to outlive the current fad.
I decided to go with round accessories to mimic the pearls on the shoes. Linked below, is an alternate choice to the Bauble Bar one’s I wore. BB’s red matched this dress perfectly while having just the right about of metallic shimmer in the thread they are made out of. Another reason these striking earrings are perfect is that they’re super light — they did not pull on my earlobes at all! My wrap pearl bracelet was actually a necklace but I linked another option for you loves below. P.S. The earrings linked below are significantly more expensive than the ones I was able to find at Bloomingdales!
To add another texture to the look I toted a black vintage velvet clutch with gold fixtures — which perfectly complemented my shoes. Lastly, I threw one ring on — borrowed from the lovely Kathy Fable (THANK U).
I am beyond angry at myself for not properly documenting this look — but it was such a great time that these shots will have to do!
XO,
L
