4 REASONS TO LIVE IN NYC

New York City speaks for itself in many ways. It is true that you will either love or hate New York City — regardless, there is absolutely no place in the world quite like it. From being able to find any cuisine from any country in the world to the palpable energy pulsing through the city 24/7 — NYC a place to experience at least once in your lifetime! If you are even considering a move to NY, or if you are just curious about the Big Apple, here are 4 reasons to live in New York…

FOOD. FOOD. && MORE GREAT FOOD.

From the bodega on the corner to the new high-end restaurants in Hudson Yards there is no shortage of delicious food (at all price points) in Manhattan.

If you’re new here — I am a foodie through and through. New York city’s food scene is one of the most eclectic in the word. If it’s not the best place in the world for food, it’s easily in the top 5. New York City has more amazing dining spots than you’d be able to try in a lifetime. You can eat at a new restaurant 3x a day for years and never even come close to making a dent in NYC dining scene. Currently working my way through my “must-try” list of restaurants && will contuntie to share them on the blog + @canttalk_eating.

One of the biggest draws of NYC’s dining scene is its diversity. It is a melting pot of ethnicities and backgrounds. You can get a true taste of almost any country. Some of the best spots transport you to the cuisine’s country of origin while dining there. Every neighborhood has its tried and true spots, but with a little digging, you can find really great hole-in-the-wall places, too. Needless to say, when you live in New York, it’s a guarantee that you’ll always be eating well.

CULTURE + DIVERSITY

New York City is a mecca of culture and diversity. There is something for everyone in this city. And there is a neighborhood that will suit you, + the NYC lifestyle you’re after, the best. Love museums? Head to the UES for Museum mile. Love live music? You can find live music playing somewhere downtown every single night of the week. Foodie? NYC is the place to splurge on fine dining. It truly is a melting pot like nowhere else — as I read in a World Population Review: “With regards to languages, New York City is the most linguistically diverse city in the world. Over 800 languages are spoken within the city’s five boroughs including many that face the risk of extinction.” It is the one city you can travel all over the world without hopping on a plane.

EVER-EXPANDING BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

Just like places to eat — there are so many different jobs and lifestyles you can have while living in New York City. New York City makes dreams happen – personally AND professionally. There are a ton of opportunities for networking and furthering your career – no matter what line of business you are in. You have the chance to meet others who have the same goal as you, find a company that is a great fit, and even expand your education while in NYC. Professionally, what more could you ask for?

CONVENIENCE

Let’s face it – pretty much everything is convenient in NYC. Almost everything is just a few steps away from your front door. The bank, the grocery store, the post office, the train station, a taxi, gyms, nail salons, restaurants, and so many other things – just a short walk away. Honestly, a 2-minute walk from wherever you live can more than likely bring you to any of these places: and good ones, at that. The need for having your own car is nonexistent + using the subway is the absolute fastest way around the city. Everything is convenient in New York City. Once you get used to this 24/7 convinces, everything else pales in comparison.

I do think that everyone should experience living in NYC at least once in their lifetime. While it is famous for being expensive, there are so many different lifestyles in NYC + you can find what works for you!
