For those of you who have been following me for a while, you know that I am happiest while dressed in all black with a mixture of textures. But ever since I found out about FARM Rio, I have been wearing the rainbow. Literally. ?
I am a sucker for texture (from over the top embellishment to mixing multiple textures), and Farm Rio has texture + embellishment DOWN. It was impossible not to buy the whole store while shopping at their new SoHo location — which is an experience all on it’s own.
Their New York City flagship store transports you to a beach in Rio from the second you leave the SoHo sidewalk. As you hop from wooden disk to wooden disk to float through the sandboxes strategically placed around the store, you’ll find yourself closer to the hand-strung changing huts hanging from the ceiling. Even if you’re not shopping for clothes, stop by FARM in SoHo to experience the ‘getaway’ space they’ve created right in Manhattan.
But back to the clothes — FARM’s designs are the kind of pieces that make you want to feel the clothes, not just look at them. I had to stop at every rack I walked by just to feel the fabrics and search for the distinct detail hidden on each garment. From silky fringe skirts with hidden embroidery to the delicate beaded details on the ties of dresses, each garment has a unique signature.
The tiny “follow the sun” embroidered detail on the tie of my skirt is one of my favorite touches on a piece of clothing. While it is not noticeable to a stranger as I walk by, I know it’s there and those thoughtful details make me happy. I live for these details.
You will have no buyer’s remorse with anything purchased from Farm. The brand’s fashion designs speak for themselves — but FARM does not only create beautifully made pieces — they are also a sustainable brand. Every little bit counts, remember that! Whether that is a factor in your shopping experience or not, what they are doing is is incredible…

I know that it can be unrealistic for people to always shop sustainable clothing since they often carry heavy price tags, but the quality and suitability of FARM make splurging worth it. This stunning red silk dress is one of my favorite dresses I’ve ever owned. It is impossible to be upset when you’re wearing something as beautiful and exotic as this. (Or maybe it’s just that clothes make me that happy).
