San Diego’s dining scene’s hidden gem — The Desmond — is tucked away on the mezzanine level of the Kimpton Alma Hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown. The Desmond has changed my perspective of fine dining in San Diego. While this SoCal city is well known mainly for it’s casual eats — The Desmond transports you to an elegant fine dining experience in a posh setting. They have incredible monthly prix fixe menu deals that every San Diegan needs to experience.
Each menu item is perfectly crafted with a well thought flavor profile. We were invited in try their new Summer menu and already planned our next night out here before leaving our table. Chef Jason Neroni has perfected this menu/dining experience from the cocktails to the dessert. No detail was left out and that makes all the difference. The Desmond’s elevated dining experience will be a difficult one to top.
