SMORGASBURG

The top 5 stands that you must stop at!

Of course we choose the hottest, stickiest day to make our way to Brooklyn for Smorgasburg… But I am so glad we did. The heat did force me to choose lighter foods so I missed out on some of the must-haves: Dan & John’s Wings, a Takumi Taco, and Mighty Quinn’s BBQ. So now I have an excuse to go again in the Fall.

5. VAQUEROS PRODUCTS — MANGO

Although I couldn’t find this vendor on the Smorgasburg website — this was the biggest, sweetest mango I’ve ever had. Cut into a shape of the flower, sprinkled with lemon juice & dusted with chili powder — this was perfectly refreshing for a 90 degree day.

4. RED HOOK LOBSTER POUND

I ate A LOT of lobster rolls this summer — and this was one of the best. They did not skimp on the meat and  the lobster-to-bread ratio was on point. There was just enough seasoning too!

3. HOME FRITE

I am normally not a fan of truffles (I know thats sacrilegious for a foodie, but I think they smell like feet) — but these fries had the perfect subtle flavor + the most delicious chipotle ranch dipping sauce.

2. ALCHEMY CREAMERY

This was my second time having Alchemy Creamery and it was just as good as the first. This time I tried Chocolate Chai and Blueberry Creamscicle with rainbow sprinkles in a cinnamon and brown sugar vegan cone. (Alchemy is dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free, vegan… you get the point)

1. BIG MOZZ

My favorite stand & the most amazing mozzarella. I mean it was made right in front of us! The only thing I love more than fresh mozzarella is pesto — and their “mozz bomb” is fresh mozz injected with pesto. Literally injected right before your eyes… They also had a caprese sandwich & mozz pops with pesto for dipping!

Also… grab a fresh coconut while you’re there.

XO,

L
